Man it is finally Friday!!!  Who else is glad???

I wanted to share with you the excitement that I had today while I was in the woods.  I was driving down a woods road when I had stopped to look out of my truck window.  I was looking out at a stand of timber and when I looked down at the ground, I observed a nest of yellow jackets just below me.

I immediately got my iPhone and took not only pictures but a couple of videos as well.  I was unable to add the videos but I at least wanted to add a photo to give you some idea of what I am trying to describe.  What I thought was just a few pesky bugs ended up being over 50!!!

This is one of the luxuries we as natural resource professionals have to deal with when venturing out in the forests.  At least I was in the truck this time and not walking over them.

Don't forget to memorize Romans 5:8 for next Wednesday, August 1.  That will be three verses that we will be able to use to lead someone to Christ.  The three verses are:

(1) Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.


(2) Romans 6:23 For the wages (payment) of sin is death, BUT the gift of God is eternal life through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.


(3) Romans 5:8 God demonstrated His own love towards us in that while we were yet sinners, He died for us.

Getting Dressed in the Morning

Ephesians 6

When you wake up each morning you are like most all Americans in that you get ready for the day before leaving home.

You get out of bed, hopefully you brush your teeth, you put on some deodorant, your clothes...you get the idea!

This is actually getting ready for what we call the material world or physical world (the realm we are more comfortable with).

I want to briefly touch on the spiritual realm in which is very active. There are all sorts of evil forces that try to destroy us as Believers in Christ. All we need to do is protect ourselves against these forces with spiritual armor, The Armor of God.

God is our Warrior and fights our battles for us and all we have to do is protect ourselves while He pursues the evil one and wins every time because the War has been won!

Let me encourage you to put on the Full Armor of God daily so that you can carry out the will He has chosen for you.

Does anybody really know?

FADS.  Fads come and go and often times after a period of years they return.  One of these fads I want to make mention of is the displaying of a Peace Sign.  I see people of all ages wearing them...even children. I would love to approach someone with the sign and ask them what is the original meaning of that sign.

Why do we do things just because "everybody else are doing them?"  If everybody else jumps off of a bridge would you?  (I apologize for this analogy...I could just hear my Mama saying this same very thing.)

Do you really understand half of the symbols/traditions that you have in your life?

Are we introducing fads in our lives that possibly are not God honoring?

Just asking?

Busting Gulf Shores Wide Open...hElP!!!

Good Morning!

My family and I are on vacation the rest of the week and we are in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

We HAD to eat supper at the Hang Out lastnight and needless to say, we had to wait an hour and a half to get a seat.  During that time Morgan and Rose wanted to get a feather in there hair so that we did.

We walked around and around and around the same places and had the girls pictures taken on an oversized chair and the Hang Out Hand.  I think that we managed to get through the hour and a half wait without spending too much money *LOL*

Our buzzer finally went off and to our table we went.  I got the fish tacos, Mary Lynn got the shrimp wrap, and you guessed it Morgan and Rose got what was safe...catfish!  They ate the french fries and left the fish for me to eat!

We will be here until Sunday night and Brother Benji will enlighten you spiritually not only Sunday morning during Sunday School but during the 5PM hour as well.  PLEASE be reading your lesson for Wednesday night, pray for you and others, and prepare your hearts so that God can use you this week.

Memorize Romans 6:23 for this Wednesday!

I am brainstorming, folks, and I think that by me creating a blog, I will be able to send you key reminders as well as share my thoughts with you throughout the week.  I would like to know your feedback as to the availability of these blogs.

With blogging being new to me, I am still learning how to use this form of media.  I am not sure how you will receive these blogs.  Will you get them in your email or wha???
